FAIS-2024 brings together immunologists from across Africa and beyond and promises to significantly advance immunology research and scientific collaboration to address health challenges in Africa and around the world.

The African Congress of Immunology is a major triennial event that brings together immunologists from across Africa and beyond. After the last edition held online in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2024 edition (FAIS-2024), initially planned for The Gambia, went through several relocation attempts before finalizing in Cotonou, Benin. Scheduled from December 10 to 13, 2024, at the Palais des Congrès de Cotonou, FAIS-2024 is themed “Innovative Strategies Against Infectious Diseases and Emerging Immunological Disorders in Africa.” This prestigious event, affiliated with the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS), is expected to attract 300 delegates, promising high standards in both scientific exchanges and social programs. 

FAIS-2024 features a comprehensive agenda, including a pre-congress workshop on Flow Cytometry, and sessions covering emerging diseases, One Health Immunology, Cancer Immunology, HIV, TB, Malaria, vaccine immunology, and traditional herbal formulas. The Congress in Cotonou promises to significantly advance immunology research and scientific collaboration to address health challenges in Africa and around the world.
