I am deeply honored to support the advancement of immunology in Africa, a cause that is close to my heart. During my time as President of the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS), I witnessed the remarkable growth of the immunology community across the continent, including the founding of the Benin Immunology Society in 2019. This congress represents a crucial platform for African scientists to showcase their work, foster collaborations, and drive forward the scientific innovations that will address the unique health challenges of our region. I particularly want to encourage young girls and female scientists in Benin, and from around Africa to actively participate in driving our continents’ scientific agenda. Your contributions are needed and very welcome! I am proud to stand with my colleagues as we work together to elevate the impact of immunology in Africa and beyond.
Faith Osier, Past President, International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS)
